Made pattidi mancham during free time and documented detailed steps here
Word of suggestion 0: Attempt it only if you consider it as fun task.
Word of suggestion 1: If you have kids, involve them in it, My little toddlers had lot of fun helping me on it.
Word of suggestion 2: Feel free to give your own thought and make betterment to below steps.
Word of suggestion 3: Try not to finish everything in same day or a weekend. Take your own time and enjoy doing it.

Disclaimer: You may find below products from other stores also and you may find other alternates for the same product with multiple brands. I am just listing with reference to my purchases:
What is needed:
1) Pattidi /Navaru : ~500 INR for 6x3 cot. It comes as 2 bundles and weighs about 5 pounds.
2) 2" x 3" x 8 ft studs : 3 count ($2 each) from Homedepot (http://www.homedepot.com/.../2-in-x-3-in-x-96.../202059590). It is enought for cot frame and legs also.
3) Corner braces: 3 packs ($2.5 each and each has 4 braces so total 12) from homedepot http://www.homedepot.com/.../Everbilt-1-1-2-in.../2020338924) Wood nails: 2 boxes ($2 each) from homedepothttp://www.homedepot.com/.../SPAX-8-x-1-1-4-in.../2020409985) Polyurethane (to protect wood for outside use): $7 from homedepothttp://www.homedepot.com/.../Minwax-8-oz-Semi.../100376220 and some paint brush

Optional:
1) Drill helps because you need to install 12 braces.
2) mallet may help to use with chesil. If not, Use any weight
3) If you choose to stain to match with rest of your furniture, You can buy preferred stain also.

Process :
1) For making rectangular cot frame, You need 2 frames of 6 ft, 2 frames of 3 foot studs. Home depot offer free cuts so you can just ask them to cut in required sizes
2) For legs, I used the same studs and leftovers cut into 15" pieces at home depot itself. You can buy prefinished legs each for ~$10 in homedepot. For better stability i used 6 legs because the studs are not that strong
3) {difficult task}: To make the rectangular frame, I have cut each frame as half lap joint (http://www.printcutsew.com/.../2009/01/half-lap-joints.jpg).
3.a (Part - 1): All homedepots offer free work table with free hand saws to make precision cuts. I have made half cuts using handsaw in home depot.
3.b (Part - 2): At home, I used wood chesil to finish the half lap joint using the markings i have done in home depot with handsaw.
4) Now, You can join all parts using screws, braces at each "L" corner. Dont use the screws come in the braces box. Instead, use 1-1/4" wood screws for good strength.
5) Feel free to run more screws to joint the frames as you want for better stability.
6) {Optional} you can stain with preferred color. Some people like clear wood finish so you can skip this step. If you plan to stain, Do a nice clean sanding using corded orbital sander with 80 grid followed by 120 grit sheets
7) If you plan to use the cot outside, You have to seal the wood with Polyurethane. Hardly 10 minutes job though. Dry it for 24 hours at least.
8) {Most fun and memorable task is weaving}: I am sure all us have done it or atleast seen in our childhood. If not, Ask your parent or grand parents. వింత అలవాట్లు...వింత చేష్టలు...
ఈరోజు HTML5 webapp ట్రైనింగ్ కి వెళితే అక్కడ ఒకడు పిజ్జా ముక్క పట్టుకొని వచ్చి పక్కన కూర్చున్నాడు....
కొంచెం తేడా గానే వున్నాడు...
పళ్ళు ఇకిలించి పిజ్జా ని ఫోటో తీసుకున్నాడు...నాకు ఇంక confirm అయ్యింది...
నేను పద్దతి గా కూర్చుంటే నా పక్కనొడు వాడిని కేలికేసాడు...ఫోటో ఎందుకు తీసుకున్నావ్ అని...
వాడు చెప్పిన కారణానికి నాకు తల తిరిగింది....
వాడు ప్రతిరోజూ తినే టప్పుడు దాన్ని ఫోటో తీస్తాడంట...ఇప్పటికి 7000 ఫోటోలు దాచాదంట
ఇవన్ని కలిపి ఒక database లో పెట్టి వాడి ప్రతి రోజు ఎలా వుందో ముసలోడు అయ్యాక చూసుకు మురిసిపోటాడట... వాడి పిల్లలికి కూడా చూపిస్తాడట.. ఇదంతా ఒక app లో పెడతాడట...
వెర్రి వెయ్యిన్నొక్క రకాలు అంటారు...కాని ఇది ఆ రేంజ్ దాటిపోయింది...

నిన్న "మల్లేశ్వరి" సినిమా లో కామెడీ సీన్ చూసాను! అందులో ఒక dialog:
Marriage Broker: ఇదిగో ప్రసాదు! నువ్వు ఒక్క మూడు వేలు ఇస్తే ఒక అమ్మాయిని చూపిస్తాను...మరో నెలలో సూన్య మాసం వచ్చేస్తుంది! ఈ లోపులో ఆ సంబంధం సెట్ చేసేస్తాను!
Venki: పది మాగ మాసాల్లో అవ్వని పెళ్లి ఒక శూన్య మాసం లో ఏం అవుతుందండి...
ఎలాగైనా త్రివిక్రమ్ కేకో కేక!

Nice weekend @ America
అవును...నేను ముందు చెప్పినట్లు మంచి స్నేహితులు ఉంటే కష్టాలు కనిపించవు. భూమి మీద ఏ మూల వున్నా మన వూరిలో ఉన్నట్టే వుంటుంది.
కుకట్ పల్లి లో భువన విజయం గ్రౌండ్ లాంటి గ్రౌండ్ అమెరికా లో కూడా అదీ మా ఇంటి దగ్గర వుంటుంది అని, నా లాంటి ఆట రాని మరో ఆరుగురు software engineers తో కలసి పొటుగాడిలా cricket bat పట్టుకుని వెళ్తానని అనుకోలేదు.
హ్యాపీ గా ఆరుగురం numbers వేసుకుని బాస్కెట్ ని వికెట్ లా పెట్టి వాటర్ బాటిల్ ని ఇంకో పక్క వికెట్ లా పెట్టి మనిషికి మూడు వోవర్ల చొప్పున కొమ్మేసాం! Ofcourse నేను మూడో బంతి కీ అవుట్ అనుకోండి!
తరువాత volley ball కూడా ఆడేసాను. ఇది కొంచెం పర్వాలేదు. ఐనా నేనేమైన కప్పులు కొట్టుకుని రావాలా ఏంటి?
కాసేపు ఆట విడుపు. రోజు లో కొంచెం కొత్తగా....ఏదో రాత్రి పడుకోనీ ముంది ఓ అరగంట బ్లాగ్ లో రాసుకోటానికి తప్పితే...
